BELGIUM
Belgium 1870s Nagant, Liege Bayonet
Marked Nagant, Liege on the blade ricasso. Wood grips held by two polished rivets with no muzzle ring. Fullered blade with a bright finish with some staining and light pitting. Metal scabbard with oblong frog stud with about 90% blued finish remaining. Rare bayonet and is unknown model. Rarity: R3 Condition: VG+ Price: $425 |
Belgium 1868 Terssen Carbine Bayonet
Very similar to the French 1866 Chassepot bayonet except that this piece has a more rounded pommel and the leaf spring is secured by a screw versus a rivet. Marked with inspection marking and 1869 date on the blade ricasso with matching serial number 3764 on the crossguard and scabbard top fitting. Very nice fullered yataghan blade with some staining and no sharpening. Excellent leather scabbard with brass fittings. Rarity: R2+ Condition: VG+ Price: $375 |
Belgium 1889 Sword Bayonet
Made by Alex Coppel in Germany and has Belgian inspection marking on the blade and 'V' in a circle on the crossguard. Wood handle held by two spanner nuts and has been painted black on the crossguard and pommel. Very long fullered blade with staining and light pitting overall. Metal scabbard which has been painted black overall and throat is marked M.40 and is missing the throat screw. Rare bayonet. Rarity: R3 Condition: VG Price: $400 |
Belgium 1935 BAR Bayonet
All steel hilt with press stud with stepped back muzzle ring. Black parkerized finish on the cruciform blade with circular ricasso. Typically marked with an 'PH' in a circle on the blade and serial number 4570 on the crossguard. No scabbard since the scabbard is designed as a swiveling mount for the Belgian FM Model 30 automatic rifle (BAR) which attached to the anti-aircraft vehicle and was rarely every removed. DENMARK
Danish 1840 Hirschfanger Bayonet
Dated 1842 on the top of the blade. Solid brass handle with brass sleeve (for musket bar attachment) along handle with leaf spring release. There is no mortise slot along side for this model. No markings on the handle or blade. Long slab blade with no fullers. No scabbard. Rarity: R3 Condition: VG+ Price: $850 |
Danish 1848 Hirschfanger Bayonet

Egyptian English 1907 Mk II Sword Bayonet
Wood grips held by 2 screws with oil hole in the pommel with no hooked quillion. Made after about 1914 when the hooked quillion model was no longer made. These still typically had the original British markings with additional Arabic markings added. Rarity: R2 Condition: VG+ Price: $225 |
FINLAND
Finnish Model 19 Fighting Knife
Finnish M/19 Puukkopistin Non-commissioned officer's knife. Sold by Moses Kotschack to NCO Officers in the Finnish Army in Lieu of wearing a sword. Made by Fiskers which is the rarest of all the makers. Checkered wood grips with silver alloy pommel and crossguard. Sharpened blade with a repaired notch section of the blade. Black painted metal scabbard with curved finale with green canvas belt attachment. Rarest maker of this fighting knife. Rarity: R2+ Condition: VG Price: $650 |

Finnish Model 1939 Bayonet
Made by O.Y. Veljekset Kulmala, A.B. and marked with the 'Sk.Y' (Suojeluskunta) for the 'White or Home Guard' on the blade ricasso and the '=S=' (Civil Guard acceptance) on the crossguard. Wood handle held by two slotted screws. Short bright fullered blade with some staining and light sharpening. Green leather scabbard with retaining strap marked 'Sk.Y.' on the front with steel reinforced tip. Only 10,000 made. Authentic, rare and very hard to find. Rarity: R3 Condition: VG+ Price: $875 |
FRANCE
French 1840 Bayonet
No maker or dated on the back of the blade and only has French inspection markings on the blade. Solid brass handle with leaf spring. Non-matching serial numbers on the crossguard (1423) and scabbard (1160). Regimentally marked A.9.5. on the top of the handle. Long fullered blade with most of its original finish with no sharpening. Black painted metal scabbard. Only issued to NCO's to signify their rank. Very rare. Rarity: R3 Condition: VG+ Price: $1500 |
French 1860 Epee d'Essai Trials Bayonet
Only maker's marking is a letter in a circle on the left crossguard. Horn gripped handle with leaf spring on the right side of handle. Muzzle ring with a cutout notch on the right side. 4-sided cruciform blade. No scabbard. Very short lived experimental bayonet with only a few hundred made. Overall length is 674mm with a 550mm blade. The muzzle ring diameter is 22mm. Extremely rare trials bayonet. Rarity: R4 Condition: VG Price: $1200 |
French 1955 D'Essai Bayonet
Similar to the British Fairbain Sykes fighting knife with brass handle with spiral grooves. Double edged blade with slightly rounded tip. Metal scabbard with canvas belt attachment which is torn. Only a couple hundred were made. Used by the French Riflemen-Commando Marine Squads in Indochina and Algerian wars between 1955 and 1960. This bayonet was used on the US M1 Carbine which required a special adaptor on the rifle. Rarity: R4 Condition: VG+ Price: $700 |
IRELAND
Irish 1874 Ulster UVF Gras Bayonet
Similar to the French 1874 Gras that has had the brass pommel filed down and the press stud catch was elongated to fit the German Gewehr 88 rifle (the modification was done by the Germans for use in Ireland). Top spine of blade marked St. Etienne, 1876. T-shaped blade with no sharpening. Non-matching numbers on the crossguard and scabbard throat. Used by the Ulster Volunteer Force and the IRA during WWI. Rare with only about 5,000 made. Rarity: R3 Condition: VG+ Price: $325 |
ITALY
Italian 1870 Vetterli Type V Bayonet - Early Brass Model
This is the first of the Vetterli V70 bayonet series and has a brass handle with a mortise slot that runs the length of the top of the handle that closely resembles the French 1866 chassepot bayonet. It has a retaining nut on the end of the pommel (to allow for handle replacement or repair). It is equipped with a crossguard which is similar to the other Vetterli models but this model has a small curl on the front side of the guard and a tightening screw on the top of the muzzle ring. Marked RA or MA on the blade ricasso and serial number M2713 on the crossguard. Long fullered blade with some light sharpening with early style leather scabbard with long tapered brass fittings. Italian 1871/87 (Type U model) Bayonet
Made by Torre Annunziata. Brown composition grips with a short leaf spring with a notch under the muzzle ring and no retaining nut on the end of the pommel. Serial numbered on the crossguard. Long fullered blade with some light sharpening. Black leather scabbard with brass fittings. The Type U model is quite scarce. Rarity: R2+ Condition: VG+ Price: $500 |
Italian 1938 Folding Beretta Bayonet (2nd model)
This was the later model with the standard push button release with a male mortise slot on the top of the handle. Wood grips held by two screws. Handle has steel pommel and crossguard. Made by 'PS' in an oval (Polotti Scherma srl - Lumezzane - Brescia) with a serial number 3695 on the top spine of handle. Folding blade with press stud release. Black painted metal scabbard. Comes with black leather frog. Rarity: R3+ Condition: VG+ Price: $975 |
Italian 1938 Folding Beretta Brass Prototype Bayonet (2nd model)
This was the later model with the standard push button release with a male mortise slot on the top of the handle. Wood grips held by two screws. Handle has prototype brass pommel and crossguard which was made in the 1950s. No maker or serial number on the back of the handle. Folding blade with press stud release. Black painted metal scabbard. Dutch 1895 Artillery Bayonet
Made by Hembrug. Wood grips with about 50% finish remaining on the handle. Guard marked with serial number 2172 F with crown over E inspection marking on the blade. T-shaped blade with about 70% blued finish remaining with no sharpening. No scabbard. Rarity: R2+ Condition: VG+ Price: $160 |
Dutch 1895 Artillery Bayonet
Made by Alex Coppel. Wood grips with about 50% finish remaining on the handle. Guard marked with serial number 5242 G with crown over L inspection marking on the blade. Dutch 1895 Infantry Bayonet
Made by Hembrug. These were issued to the Infantry. Wood grips with about 60% finish remaining on the handle. T-shaped blade with about 80% blued finish remaining with no sharpening. Made by OEWG (Oesterreichische Waffengesellschaft, Austria). Wood grips with about 80% finish remaining on the hooked handle guard marked with serial number 4106 with crown over T inspection marking on the blade. Dutch 1895 2nd model Marines Bayonet
Made by OEWG (Oesterreichische Waffengesellschaft, Austria). Wood grips with about 75% finish remaining on the hooked handle with the typical Marine metal plate and screw on the grips. Guard marked with serial number 6597 with crown over T inspection marking on the blade. T-shaped blade with about 75% blued finish remaining with no sharpening. Very rare early model all stitched leather scabbard with no markings or retaining strap. Rarity: R3 Condition: VG+ Price: $375 |
NORWAY
Sold - Norwegian 1859 Kammerladers Bayonet
Made for the Liege & Kongsberg Kammerladers that had a larger muzzle ring (23mm) for use on the 1858 '18-lödig' chamber loader and M/1859 '15-lödig' muskets. Made by Kongsberg (crown over 'K') with serial number 8505 on other side of blade. The bayonet has a brass pommel and crossguard with wood grips held by 4 rivets with a laynard hole through the top of the pommel with leaf spring release. Long yataghan fullered blade with no sharpening. Came with a leather scabbard with internal brass top and bottom fittings. Norwegian 1860/1867 Remington Bayonet
The bayonet has a brass pommel and crossguard with wood grips held by 4 rivets with a lanyard hole through the top of the pommel with a leaf spring release. Made by the Norwegian arsenal at Kongsberg (crown over 'K') with serial number 40175 on other side of blade. Long fullered yataghan blade with no sharpening. Leather scabbard with internal brass top and bottom fittings with about 1" shrinkage. The muzzle ring diameter is 19mm. Rarity: R3 Condition: VG+ Price: $375 |
Norwegian 1944 Police Bayonet
Marked 'EAB' (E. A. Bergs Fabriksaktiebolag of Eskilstuna). Wood grips held by two slotted screws with press stud about 2 inches from end of pommel. Polish WZ 86/93 French Lebel Bayonet

SERBIA / Yugoslovia
Yugoslavian Serbian Chetnik 1924/40 Kindjahl Bayonet
Post War well made for the elite guard and marked BT3 in a triangle on the ricasso and the back strap of scabbard. Wood handle held by 2 spanner nut screws. Has a very unusual attaching mechanism with a T/O slot for the Serbian Model 1924 Mauser Carbine. Fullered double edged blade with about 80% of blued finish remaining with possibly very light sharpening. Metal scabbard with skull and crossbones on brass plate on the front of the scabbard with about 80% of original finish remaining. Matching numbers 2431 on the crossguard and throat of scabbard. Spanish 1858 Engineer's Bayonet
Toledo and date markings have been removed with serial number on the crossguard. Brass handle with ornate pommel with socket attached which is missing the retaining ring. Spanish 1865 Peon Caminero Carbine Bayonet
Brass handle with short leaf spring and steel crossguard. Bowie style blade with false edge with serial number 123 on the pommel. No scabbard. Made for the Peon Caminero (Trail Guard) carbine. These were rural guards usually hired or contracted by provincial authorities in order to enforce the laws and protect travelers and field workers. Very rare bayonet. Spanish 1964 CETME Navy Bayonet
Marked Navy anchor on one side and a serial number over a sword in a cog wheel over TOLEDO logo on the other side. Black plastic grips with dark blued pommel and crossguard. Spanish 1980s Model L CETME Navy Bayonet
Made by Toledo with Spanish eagle and serial number FN11807A on the blade ricasso with Navy anchor on right side of blade. Swiss 1817 Sharpshooters Weidmesser Bayonet
Squirrel trademark stamp on the blade. Brass handle with straight crossguard with mortise slot along the left side of the handle with metal leaf spring. Made by Gebr. Weyersberg, Solingen. Brass handle with leather grips serial number 154 on the pommel with '23' on the end of the pommel. Made by Elsener Schwyz (AKA Victorinox). Wood handle held by two polished rivets with some loss of polished finish on the end of the pommel from rubbing against the leather frog. UNITED KINGDOM
British Officer's Late 1700s Plug Bayonet
Marked with the inset comet on the blade which was the mark of John Hathaway who was granted the use of this symbol by the Worshipful Company of Cutlers of London on 26th September 1689. He is a well known maker of blades of exceptional quality for plug bayonets and several other examples of his work have been recorded. A very fine English Plug Bayonet made for an Army Officer and dating to circa 1690 to 1700. Plug bayonets were used by the British military after the middle years of the 17th century until they were replaced with the socket bayonet in the early 18th century. The bright, slightly curved, single edged blade becomes double-edged for over a third of its length towards the point. Very rare early plug bayonet in great condition. The blade length is 11.5 inches (29.25 cm) and overall the bayonet is 17.5 inches long (44.5 cm) with a 5.25" (13.3 cm) false edge towards the tip. Rarity: R3 Condition: VG+ Price: $925 |

British 1887 MkIII Bayonet
Made by Enfield and dated '/88'. Worn checkered leather grips held by 4 rivets with a press stud with 541 marked on the pommel. Non-fullered blade with no sharpening and some staining. Leather scabbard with steel fittings with throat serial numbered 9265. Rarity: R2 Condition: VG+ Price: $200 |
British 1907 MkI Bayonet with Hooked Quillion
Made by Enfield and dated 05 '09. Wood grips held by two slotted screws. Black painted pommel and crossguard with regimental number MAN.B.394 on the pommel.
