German 98k Bayonet - 1934 S/175K
Made by S/175K (F. W. Holler) for manufacture in 1934.  Wood grips with about 70% blued finish on the handle.  Blade with about 90% blued finish remaining and no sharpening.  Metal scabbard with about 30% blued finish remaining.  Matching numbers on the bayonet and scabbard '3951 b'.  Rare maker and date combination with only about 25,000 made.

Made by Rich. Herder in 1940 (non-matching).  Bakelite grips with about 60% blued finish remaining.  Blade has about 80% blued finish remaining with light sharpening.  Metal scabbard with 50% black paint finish remaining.  Serial number on the bayonet is '1656'.  The scabbard is marked 39 Gebr. Heller and the serial number is '5274 g'.

Corts) in 1941 (matching).  Bakelite grips with about 65% blued finish remaining.  Blade has about 90% blued finish remaining with no sharpening.  Metal scabbard with 75% blued finish remaining.  Matching numbers on the bayonet and scabbard 2262 k.  Unusual marking on the ricasso under the 41 ddl which has been stamped out.  Black leather frog with faint maker and date (looks like 1937).  Scarce maker and date combination.

Made by ffc (F. Herder) in 1941 (non-matching).  Bakelite grips with about 80% blued finish remaining.  Blade has about 90% blued finish remaining with no sharpening.  Metal scabbard with 90% blued finish remaining.  Serial number on the bayonet is '7107 e'.  The scabbard is marked 38 E. Pack and the serial number is '6874'.  Matching numbers '25' on both bayonet & scabbard.

Rare maker and date combination with only about 49,000 made.

Herder) and is dated 1944 (matching).  Bakelite grips with about 90% blued finish remaining.  Blade with about 90% blued finish remaining with no sharpening with some staining on the very tip.  Metal scabbard with about 60% blued finish remaining.  Matching numbers on the bayonet and scabbard '8026 d'.  Scarce maker and date combination.

German 98k - Commercial Clemen & Jung Model
Made by Clemen & Jung with no date or inspection markings and the scabbard is marked Clemen & Jung and dated 1939 with no inspection markings.  Wood grips with about 70% blued finish remaining.  Blade with about 70% blued finish remaining with crude sharpening.  Metal scabbard with about 40% blued finish remaining.

These bayonets were planned to be sold to countries like Spain and Portugal in the late 1930s but with the outbreak of the war these were kept by Germany for Commercial use and the export contracts were never fulfilled.  The blade is stamped Clemen & Jung with no date on the blade spine and the sheath is stamped Clemen & Jung 1939 or both the bayonet and scabbard are dated 1938 with no Waffenampts or serial numbers.
